Completely. Totally. Utterly. Broken.

No, not my sewing machine, or the computer... just me.  Maybe that's a slight exaggeration, I'm not exactly broken, but that's how I feel.  I pulled a muscle in my back a couple of days ago, treated it with some painkillers and a hot wheat pack, and thought I was on the mend.  But this morning I tried getting out of bed and something went very wrong and I could not move without excruciating pain, I got up, seeing spots in my vision and feeling like I'd vomit from the pain...  Anyway, I saw a physio this morning, he worked some magic on it but it's still very sore, so I'll be seeing him again tomorrow...

Kitchen Time!

I have a little boy who loves helping out in the kitchen, be it stirring, whisking, peeling a carrot or just standing on a chair and watching what we're doing.  This interest in all things kitchen is definitely to be encouraged, especially in the aim of raising a boy who is confident and able to prepare his own meals one day.  So I've been re-visiting an idea from last year, to develop a range of kids aprons and kitchen accessories, though it's all still in very early stages, I thought I'd share a little sneak peek of things to come!

His first apron, made last year, gets regular use!

One of the new aprons, which he seems to think is also his!

Our most recent adventure was baking some Anzac biscuits, recipe from here, which were devoured before I remembered to get the camera out.  Apart from wearing an apron, and helping with measuring out ingredients & stirring, his favourite part was licking the spatula!  Now if I could just get him to help with cleaning the kitchen...

The Great Stash Expansion!

My mum returned from a holiday in Japan yesterday... with a massive stash of fabric for me!!  Now I just need to work out what to make with my loot!  Oh, the endless possibilities...  Please, please let me know if you can suggest any good, easy patterns.  So far I'm thinking of some summer shorts for the boys using this pattern, and maybe a skirt for me with this one but will obviously need more ideas for the rest.

The Woodland Range

These are some new items, now available in the shop.  They were originally made for the market I did, about a month ago, this range completely sold out on the day, and I've only just re-made some to photograph for the shop!  They were very popular with those who were looking for gender neutral gifts for baby showers etc.

 Woodland Owls Feeding Bib

 Woodland Stripe Clip

 Woodland Feeding Bib

 Woodland Floral Clip

The bibs are also available in the Dribble Bib size, just drop me a note if you're after one as they are yet to be listed!  The clips are not only great for keeping bub's pacifier/dummy/soother attached to them and off the floor, but also for that favourite toy that cannot be lost!

3.  Tweet this giveaway, and comment with the link.

4.  Announce the giveaway on Facebook and leave a comment & link.

5.  Blog about it and leave a comment with a link!

Relaxation

I had my wisdom teeth out yesterday. All four, under general anesthetic - because I'm a sook and have a very low pain threshold!  Today, I'm a bit swollen, no bruising yet but have been told to expect that in the next couple of days.  The only good thing to come out of it - apart from the removal of useless teeth - is the opportunity to lay around reading.  In the waiting room, in the recovery room, at home on the lounge and in bed... it's been a long time since I spent so much time reading.  And this is what has kept me occupied:

The final installment in Sara Donati's Into The Wilderness saga... it was great while it lasted, but now I'm on the lookout for something else.  Let me know if you have any recommendations!
